The FSU Program for the History and Philosophy of Science, Friends of the FSU Libraries, FSU Center for the Humanities and Society, and FSU Libraries invite you to attend a full day symposium, “Silent Spring After 50 Years: A Symposium,” on Friday, March 1, 2013, 9-4:00 pm in the Strozier Library’s Scholars Commons Reading Room.

Two Original Dramatic Presentations by Michael Lahr and Gregorij H. von Leïtis on the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche and Franz Kafka on Monday, Feb. 18,
In Strozier Library’s Scholars Commons Reading Room, from 11:00 am-12:10 pm and 12:45 pm-2:00 pm.

Gregorij H. von Leïtis will present:

“My Nietzsche”: A Reading of Selected Texts with Accompanying Commentary by Michael Lahr from 11:00 am – 12:10 pm

and

“The Gospel According to Kafka,”: A Literary Collage, with Concept and Introduction by Michael Lahr, from 12:45-2:00pm

Michael Lahr has written and lectured extensively on Nietzsche, frequently lectures on topics of political and social relevance, is the Program Director of Elysium – Between Two Continents (a cultural exchange organization operating between the U.S. and Europe) and services as an Advisor to the Nietzsche Forum, Munich, Germany.

Gregorij H. von Leïtis is the President of the Lahr von Leitis Academy & Archive, the Artistic Director of Elysium - Between Two Continents, Chairman of the Erwin
Piscator Award, which remembers the lasting legacy of Erwin Piscator, founder of the political theater in Germany and founder of the Dramatic Workshop at
the New School for Social Research in New York, where he taught such prominent people as Harry Belafonte, Judith Malina, Marlon Brando, Elaine Stritch, and
Tony Randall. Martin Scorcese cast von Leïtis as Kurt Bloom in New York Stories and von Leïtis is the first Non-American winner of the New York
Theater Club Prize.
