Photographs, Video Taping and Filming
Florida State University Libraries does permit the taking of photographs, video taping and filming within Strozier, Dirac Science and Pepper Libraries under the following conditions.
The camera operator must:
- Make written request seeking permission to film, video tape or take pictures of any type at least one week in advance from the FSU Libraries Associate Director of public services, Rebecca Bichel.
- Gain the verbal permission of any adult who might be seen in the photograph, video or film. If that person refuses to consent to being photographed or filmed, the camera operator may request library staff secure a specific area in the library for filming, video taping or photography to keep non-consenting persons out of the lens view.
- If minor children are present in the libraries at the time the photos or filming is being done, it is mandatory and the responsibility of the camera operator to gain written permission from the child's parent or guardian before taking any photographs, filming or videotaping any minor child.
