Public Services

The Public Services Division is responsible for the leadership, planning and management of services for the arts, humanities, social sciences, physical and natural sciences, and engineering.  The division consists of five departments:  Access Services (circulation, reserves, and collection maintenance), Digital Media Center (assists users in the creation of multimedia), Undergraduate Program Services, Undergraduate Information Services, and Learning Services (library instruction and information literacy).

Government documents and collection management are also the responsibility of this unit. The division has responsibility for recommending patron policies and procedures on issues affecting all functional areas. This unit has primary responsibility for working with library administration in assessing user needs, service quality and directing appropriate follow-up and implementation of survey results. It participates in consortia and other relationships to develop and support services and resources addressing user needs. The Public Services Division is the primary liaison from the Libraries to the schools, colleges, departments, and university programs in seeking opportunities for the Libraries to enhance the learning experience and strengthen research efforts.
