9:00-1:00 Scholarly Communication 101 workshop
ACRL presenters Kevin Smith, Scholarly Communications Officer at Duke University, and Lee Van Orsdel, Dean of University Libraries at Grand Valley State University, will lead the workshop.
Through lectures and interactive activities, they will cover new methods of scholarly publishing and communication, the economics of publishing, open access and openness as a principle, and copyright and intellectual property. The workshop is appropriate for those with new leadership assignments in scholarly communication, as well as liaisons and others who are interested in the issues and need foundational understanding.
1:00-2:00 Lunch
While attending the workshop take a tour of Strozier library. We will be offering tours during lunch (1:00 - 2:00) and after (4:30 - 5:30).
2:00-4:00 Open Access CoLab
Led by professional facilitator Bess de Farber, this session will help participants determine open access collaborative activities that could be adapted/adopted by academic libraries throughout the state.

The Scholarly Communication workshop will take place in Student Services building, Room 203 (on the 2nd floor).
