At the FSU Libraries we strive to provide our faculty with world-class research support. Below is a summary of some of the tools and services we provide to help you connect with the resources and information you need to shape the world today and shape the minds of the future.


Scholars Commons is pleased to host workshops on a wide variety of topics of interest to graduate students and faculty.  Listed here are those workshops presented by University Libraries.  The Graduate School also presents  several workshops in the Scholars Commons.  For information about workshops offered by the Graduate School please visit their website:

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service where a student, faculty, or staff of Florida State University may obtain books or obtain photocopies of articles from other institutions. We Search the World for You... and Deliver!


UBORROW allows you to request materials directly from participating libraries within Florida’s state university system. This borrowing service increases your access to the collections of the other universities in Florida and delivers more quickly than standard Interlibrary Loan.

Faculty ID Authorization

Faculty ID Authorizations are signed permissions that faculty members submit to the University Libraries so currently enrolled graduate students or research assistants can check out library materials on the faculty member's FSU card.

Research Assistance

The research assistance service provides Florida State University students and faculty the opportunity to receive one-on-one help with their research needs.

Distance Learning for Faculty

Our goal is to provide distance learning faculty equitable library resources and services to support the needs of your course, your students, and your research.

Resources to Support Research and Scholarship

The library website is your gateway to a vast array of information resources. We offer diverse options for searching and browsing so you can find the resources you need with ease.  

Open Access Publishing Fund

The Open Access Publishing Fund is to support publishing costs for open access journals and books, thereby fostering the exploration of new and innovative publishing models. The fund is administered by the Scholarly Communication Librarian.

Data Management

University Libraries works in partnership with the Office of Proposal Development and the Research Computing Center to provide resources and information about data management planning, data storage, funding agency requirements, data curation tools, and options for sharing, licensing of publishing data sets.

Library Express Delivery Service (LEDs)

The Library Express Delivery service is available to FSU Faculty, Post-Docs, staff members, Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, and Graduate Assistants. Library Staff will pick-and deliver items throughout campus to designated department locations.

Course Reserves

Supplemental materials for courses may be placed on course reserve for the semester when the course is offered. Materials may include books, videos/DVDs, articles, book chapters, and physical objects and may be items from the Libraries’ collection or personal copies belonging to the instructor.
