HISTORICAL NOTE

According to Robin Sellers, in Femina Perfecta, the president of the University of Indiana delivered the FSCW Commencement address in 1915. FSCW students wrote to that university for a sheet music copy of its Alma Mater to use in their graduation program. The students appealed to Dr. William George Dodd, Dean of the FSCW College of Arts and Sciences and an accomplished local musician, to draft a similar song for FSCW. Dodd composed the words and music for a new college song which the school adopted as its alma mater.
