Florida State University's (FSU) Association of Retired Faculty was established in 1979. The association was primarily concerned with preserving relations among members. All retired faculty and their spouses were eligible for membership, and spouses retained eligibility should their spouse die. The association had many functions throughout the year, including barbecues; dinners; plays; and luncheons. The association also created committees dealing with welfare needs of retired faculty, and university relations.

The collection is comprised of newsletters issued by the Association of Retired Faculty. The newsletters informed the members about upcoming events, the amount owed for their annual dues, and who had already paid their annual dues.
