To look up articles on your topic, search databases or indexes from the lists below.

These databases are a collection of articles published in journals, magazines, newspapers, conference proceedings, and other sources. Some databases have links to the full text of articles, or the SFX button which may lead you to the full text.

For basic research, a good database to start is "Academic Search Complete".

General Article Databases: Most used databases
These databases are useful if your topic is multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary. This list provides good resources as you begin your research.

Article Databases by Subject:
These lists will help you identify a selective group of databases to search publications core to particular disciplines.

These librarian-created guides will point you in the right direction for finding databases, books and more specific to your research area.

Use these to find newspaper articles, broadcast transcripts, wire service stories, etc.

The Florida State University subscribes to over 300 databases for finding research materials imporatant to Faculty and Students. Finding the right database among hundreds of possibilities for your research area can be made easier by following some general guidelines found on this page.

You can also ask a librarian for additional assistance.The library has a one-on-one librarian consultation service that any student or faculty member can use.
