Materials Reallocation Project

Overview

The Library Materials Asset Reallocation Project is taking place during the Spring and Summer of 2009. Library representatives have been meeting with faculty in the academic departments to discuss possible changes to the information sources that the library provides. The primary justification for the project is to more closely align library resources to the curricular and research interests of the academic departments. This review is a vitally important process to make sure that the academic departments are familiar with their resources so that the most important materials are provided to the University community.

Reviews and comments will be allowed through June 5th.

Note: Library resources form the Colleges of Information, Law, Medicine, Music are not included in this review.

Project Goals

  1. Secure ongoing funds for $70,000 of reinstated databases
  2. Be responsive to faculty research and curricular needs
  3. Create a pool of funds to acquire needed content during a difficult budget cycle
