FSU Panama Branch

The Florida State University Libraries provide a broad spectrum of learning resources and services to users on campus, by remote access, and at remote locations, to support the university's educational mission. The mission of FSU Libraries is to "support and enhance the learning, teaching, research, and service activities for the Florida State University by providing organized access to quality information in all formats, promoting information literacy, preserving information, and engaging in collaborative partnerships to disseminate ideas to advance intellectual discovery."

Ten libraries constitute the system of libraries at Florida State University. Collectively and collaboratively, they provide information resources and library services to all faculty, students and staff regardless of location or specific mission.

The Strozier Library is the main library and performs central services for such functions as ordering of materials, cataloging, faculty reserves, interlibrary loan, and statistical reporting for many university libraries.

The Claude A. Pepper Library, a special library, is administratively under the main library's Special Collections department.

Five department libraries: Medical and Law are located on the Tallahassee campus; and Panama City Campus (Florida), the Ringling Museum of Art (Sarasota, FL), and the FSU Panama Campus are administratively responsible to their respective colleges and units.

Four other discipline-based branch libraries: The Paul A. M. Dirac Science Library, Information Studies Goldstein Library, Music and Engineering are programmatically responsible to the colleges or schools where they reside, yet share a closer relationship with the main library.
