Hours

The Claude Pepper Center (includes the Library and Museum) is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Location

The Claude Pepper Center is located in Tallahassee, Florida on the campus of Florida State University. The Pepper Center Building is located across from the Sandels Building near the intersection of West Call Street and Ivy Way. The Pepper Center Building is located between the Office of Telecommunications (Shaw Building) and the School of Criminology (Hecht House). Please see map below for visual detail.

The Claude Pepper Library and Museum is located on the first floor of the Claude Pepper Center on the campus of the Florida State University. The Library is in the back of the museum.

Driving Directions:

Directions from the Capitol Complex:
(Starting in Tallahassee, FL from the intersection of Apalachee Parkway (US-27) and South Monroe Street.)

  1. Turn RIGHT (north) onto Monroe Street. Head north 0.1 of a mile.
  2. Turn LEFT (west) onto W. Pensacola Street. Head west 0.6 of a mile.
  3. Turn RIGHT (north) onto Copeland Street. Head north 0.3 of a mile.
  4. Turn LEFT (west) onto W. Call Street. The Pepper Center is located at the intersection of W. Call and Ivy.

From the Airport:

  1. Turn left from the airport onto Capital Circle.
  2. Travel about two miles until you reach the intersection of Capital Circle and Orange Avenue.
  3. Turn left - you will still be on Capital Circle.
  4. Travel about three miles until you reach Tennessee Street (Highway 90).
  5. Take a right onto Tennessee Street.
  6. Travel east for about four miles until you reach Copeland Street.
  7. Take a right onto Copeland Street.
  8. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  9. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling East on Interstate 10:

  1. Exit from I-10 at Exit 27 (Highway 90).
  2. Travel east about eight miles on Highway 90 (Tennessee Street) until you reach Copeland Street.
  3. Take a right onto Copeland Street.
  4. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  5. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling West on Interstate 10:

  1. Exit from I-10 at Exit 31A (Highway 90).
  2. Travel west on Highway 90 (Tennessee Street).
  3. After crossing US 27 (Monroe Street), continue west for about six blocks until you reach Copeland Street.
  4. Take a left onto Copeland Street.
  5. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  6. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling East on Highway 90:

  1. After passing I-10, travel east about eight miles on Highway 90 (Tennessee Street) until you reach Copeland Street.
  2. Take a right onto Copeland Street.
  3. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  4. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling West on Highway 90:

  1. After crossing US 27 (Monroe Street), travel west on Tennessee for about six blocks until you reach Copeland Street.
  2. Take a left onto Copeland Street.
  3. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  4. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling South on Highway 319 (Thomasville Road):

  1. Thomasville Road will merge into Monroe Street (US 27) about four miles after you cross I-10.
  2. Travel about four blocks on Monroe until you reach Tennessee Street (Highway 90).
  3. Turn right onto Tennessee Street.
  4. Travel west on Tennessee for about six blocks until you reach Copeland Street.
  5. Take a left onto Copeland Street.
  6. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  7. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling North on US Highway 27 (Apalachee Parkway):

  1. Apalachee Parkway will come to an end at Monroe Street (US 27) in front of the Capital Building.
  2. Turn right onto Monroe Street - you will still be on US 27.
  3. Travel north on Monroe Street about five blocks until you reach Tennessee Street (Highway 90).
  4. Turn left onto Tennessee Street.
  5. Travel west on Tennessee for about six blocks until you reach Copeland Street.
  6. Take a left onto Copeland Street.
  7. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be West Call Street).
  8. The Pepper Center Building is on your right after you stop at the first stop sign.

Traveling South on US Highway 27 (North Monroe Street):

  1. Travel south on Monroe Street until you reach Tennessee Street (Highway 90).
  2. Turn right onto Tennessee Street.
  3. Travel west on Tennessee for about six blocks until you reach Copeland Street.
  4. Take a left onto Copeland Street.
  5. Turn right at the first traffic signal after turning onto Copeland (this will be the intersection of Copeland and West Call Street).
  6. The Pepper Center Building is located on the right after the stop sign (intersection of Call Street and Ivy Way).
