The FSU Libraries can provide a wide variety of resources through course reserves via your Blackboard course page, including books, book chapters, journal articles, lecture notes, texts, course syllabi, other types of print materials, video and other forms of media.
For books: Provide book information on the online form. If the Libraries holds the book, it will be retrieved from the collection; if it is checked out, a recall notice will be sent to the current borrower. If the Libraries does not own the book, contact the FSU Libraries Head of Monographic Acquisitions (Michael Luesebrink, 644-0468), to discuss options.
For articles: Provide article information on the online form. If the Libraries owns the journal containing the article or licenses a database containing it, the article will be scanned or a link built to it for online access. If the Library does not own the journal, you will be notified and asked to use ILLiad, the FSU Interlibrary Loan System, to request it.
For videos: Provide video information on the online form. If the Libraries owns the video, the Media Center in Strozier Library will manage it as a reserve item. If the Libraries does not own the item, please contact the Media Center at 644-5924 to discuss options.
For personal copies and other materials (books, lecture notes, tests, etc.):
Please bring the items to the Circulation desk in the library where you wish them to be used. If you have these in electronic form such as a Word or PDF file, or can supply a linking URL, please contact the Reserves Staff for more information.
Note: Written copyright permission is required to use scanned items in
consecutive terms, and may be required for items that will be used for
more than one term, even if the terms are not consecutive. See the
Copyright Policy for more information.
Removing Materials from Reserves/ Continuing Use
Items will be kept on reserve for the semester selected on the online form and automatically removed at the end of the semester. Electronic items will be archived with the Blackboard course page.
If you wish to keep any items on reserve for a future term, you will need to update your Instructor/Course Information on the online form and indicate which items should be continued. Please do this before the end of the current term.
Copyright permission may be needed to extend the reserve status of scanned items beyond one term. See the Copyright Policy for more information.
