Multimedia Services are currently being offered in 2 locations in Strozier Library:
- Ground floor (map) - in the Digital Media Center
- Main floor (map) - near the Exit and Circulation Desk

What You Can Do
Students
- Help get started on becoming independent media creators and users
- Participate in free workshops or stop by for individual attention.
- Capture, edit, and burn video and audio.
- Scan, resize, and refine images.
Faculty and Instructors
- Schedule an individual or group workshop that meets your instructional needs.
- Incorporate sound, images, and video into classroom presentations.
- Assistance with conference posters.
- Get help with all sorts of projects, from preparing graphics for press to producing instructional videos and documentaries

Viewing Stations
Viewing stations are available on the Main Floor (map) of Strozier Library near the Circulation Desk.
These can be used by current students and faculty with valid FSU ID to watch videos in both our closed, course reserves, and Open DVD collections.
Use of the Media Lab, Studios, and Screening Room
The Digital Media Center offers the use of its facilities and collection to FSU faculty and students, with the goal of supporting classroom assignments, instruction, faculty professional development, and the general support of the university's mission.
- Studio reservations are good for three hours. Please make reservations one day in advance. You may extend your session if demand permits.
- Faculty, teaching assistants, and student organization officers may reserve the screening room for planning or viewing media. Please contact DMC department head Chuck McCann (644-3094) regarding any special requests.
- Bring your own media (CD-R/RW, DVD+-R/RW) or device (USB drive) for saving your work.
- Storing File: Media files can be stored for short periods, but after 14 days they may be deleted. To request an extension please ask the Digital Medai Center staff when you come in. It is the responsibility of the patron to back up their files. The DMC is not responsible for lost files or projects.
Multimedia Lab
The eight-workstation multimedia lab at the Digital Media Center hosts workshops and other instruction, and provides support for classroom assignments. Walk-ins are encouraged, provided the lab has no prior commitments.
The Digital Media Center also makes its lab available for use by FSU faculty and teaching assistants for special instructional sessions. If you are interesting in using the media lab for your class, please place your request with Chuck McCann, department head, no more than two weeks in advance. However, be aware that the lab's physical contents become the responsibility of the instructor charged with the room.

FSU faculty and students. Please present FSUCards at the Media Center Desk for requesting services or borrowing materials.

Not currently, but the Leon County Public Library does, and we are working on it.

We currently do not loan any type of equipment, but may in the future, so stay tuned.

Q5: Do you have a video camera available to use in Strozier Library?
Yes, students may with the help of the staff record short presentations using video equipment in the Digital Media Center. (Please bring your own MiniDV tape.)

Q9: Can I copy commercial video, or make MP3's from my CDs?
Only for educational purposes as permitted by US copyright law. Please brush up on fair use policy.

Q12: Can I get a VHS video converted to a electronic format like a .mov or .wmv?
Yes, we have analog to digital capturing hardware for this purpose. You may copy up to three minutes for instructional or educational use.

Q13: Can I get audio cassettes converted to electronic formats like .wav or MP3?
Yes. Fair Use guidelines apply to copyrighted material.

Yes. Ask for it at our service desk.
