Medicinal Herbs
Herbs have been used for centuries for better and improved health. Here we offer a sampling of some of the herbs that have been used in Western civilization. Examples include herbal cures used by the Aztecs, as compiled in 1552 by Martin De La Cruz, and English botanist Nicholas Culpepper’s catalogue of all the known herbal remedies in England. Several texts show how people could rely on their own herbal recipes rather than always relying on the doctors. Others are reference texts for distinguishing commercial drugs.
