Visiting Florida State University Special Collections

Members of the community, alumni, researchers, and the public are welcome to visit Special Collections and use the collections found here. Materials in Special Collections may only be used in the Special Collections reading room. All researchers must register and present photo identification before using materials. Personal items and outside materials must be stored in areas provided. Only pencils and loose sheets of paper may be used while working with the materials. Laptop computers are also permitted. Policies governing the use of Special Collections materials are available upon request.

The hours of the Special Collections Reading Room are:

Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Eastern Time)

To schedule an appointment outside these hours, please contact Bill Modrow 850-644-1967 or the Main desk 850-644-3271. Hours may vary during academic breaks, so please contact us to confirm our hours during your planned visit. Staff are available by phone or email during weekdays between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.  Please contact us for further information.  Telephone, email, and mail inquiries are welcome.
