Earlier this month we were pleased to host Dr. Michael Berenbaum, an award-winning writer, lecturer, and teacher whose life work has been illuminating the Holocaust. He was the recipient of the 2017 University Libraries and Friends of University Libraries Alumni Award for Distinguished Writing.

Scholars Commons will be hosting a daylong speaker event, Water: A Symposium, on Friday, October 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The libraries provide an open access publishing fund, grants for adoption of open textbooks, mini-grants for incubating digital humanities projects, and memberships with open scholarship organizations.

This fall, the Office of Digital Research and Scholarship (DRS) is expanding several initiatives to foster cross-disciplinary communities between faculty, students, and staff. The R&D Commons is newly repurposed area in the northwest corner of the basement floor of Strozier, nestled behind the closed double doors. Comprising of an open/common area, a conference room, and the offices of our digital, technology, and development teams, the R&D Commons is primarily a co-working and training space for the Office of Digital Research and Scholarship (DRS).
Over the Summer our systems team for the FSU Libraries worked hard to upgrade your computing experience. Overall, 44 iMac's replaced older models throughout Strozier and we introduced 30 new MacBook Pro's for your use. As an added benefit, each computer will come fully equipped with the full Adobe CC package and contain all of the production and graphic design related software. We hope you take advantage of this added technology.
Starting August 7th, you’ll notice some changes to how searching works from the library home page. The top right search box and “All” search will now go to our new Onesearch, giving you quick access to our material from any page on the website. We’ve been developing and testing the new Onesearch all summer, so if you have any questions or comments please take the survey from the top right link in the new Onesearch.
