Course Reserve Information for Students

Course Reserves are course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically, through the FSU Libraries. Course materials may be put on reserve at one of the libraries or made available on the course Blackboard site at the instructor’s request. Reserve items may be checked out at a library service desk for short-term use in the library.

Search Course Reserves

Location of Reserve Items

  • All items on reserve may be searched by course, instructor, title, or author from the Course Reserves link.
  • Titles and locations of books and videos/DVDs on reserve in Strozier or Dirac Library are listed in a document under the e-Reserves link on the course Blackboard site.

Option 1:  Looking for a book on reserve

  • Search for Course Reserves
  • Books and other physical items on reserve at Strozier Library are located at the first floor Service Desk.
  • Items on reserve at Dirac and Engineering Libraries are located at the service desks at those libraries. 
  • Titles and locations of materials on reserve in Strozier or Dirac Libraries are listed in a document under the e-Reserves link on the course Blackboard site.

Option 2:  Looking for a video or DVD on reserve

  • Search for Course Reserves
  • DVDs and videos on reserve are located at the Scholars Commons Service Desk (lower level) at Strozier Library.
  • Titles and locations of materials on reserve in Strozier or Dirac Libraries are listed in a document under the e-Reserves link on the course Blackboard site.

Option 3:  Looking for a journal article, book chapter, or streaming film on reserve

  • Scanned copies and links to journal articles and book chapters are available from a course’s Blackboard site. The “E-Reserves” link at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar on the course Blackboard site provides access to the reserve items. 
  • Titles and locations of materials on reserve in Strozier or Dirac Libraries are listed in a document under the e-Reserves link on the course Blackboard site.

 

Loan Periods and Late Fees

Any physical item on Reserve at the library must be used in the library.
The Loan Periods and fines are represented in the table below.

2 Hours $3.00 per hour (Max finr of $30.00)

4 Hours $3.00 per hour (Max fine of $30.00)

* Any Course Reserve/Textbook that is late by 24 hours or more will be charged in full to the person who checked it out. The replacement fine is non-refundable, and the library will automatically order another copy for Course Reserves.
