Starting August 7th, you’ll notice some changes to how searching works from the library home page. The top right search box and “All” search will now go to our new Onesearch, giving you quick access to our material from any page on the website. We’ve been developing and testing the new Onesearch all summer, so if you have any questions or comments please take the survey from the top right link in the new Onesearch.
The FSU Libraries website, located at lib.fsu.edu, receives over half a million visitors a year and was recently redesigned by the Libraries’ Web Development and Marketing Teams.
The Florida State University Libraries have received the 2017 Florida Library Association Web Presence Award, recognizing excellence in online services. This statewide award promotes awareness of the importance of good design and usability in web page development and recognizes outstanding examples of effective library web pages, as well as a library's overall web presence, including blogs and other social media.
The Alt-Textbook Grant Program aims to address the growing problem of textbook affordability.
FSU Libraries have announced the winners of our inaugural Alternative Textbook Grants. The grant program, launched by the Libraries in November 2016, awards successful applicants with $1,000 to support the development of open or library-licensed course materials that are available at no cost to students. These high-quality materials are written by experts and peer-reviewed, ensuring a level of intellectual and instructional rigor on par with expensive commercial equivalents.

With its eleventh annual competition now complete, the Florida Book Awards has announced winners for books published in 2016. More than 200 eligible publications were submitted across the ten categories of competition.
Now in its fifth year, the FSU Libraries’ popular Business Research 101 Workshops (BR101) will return, starting on February 7. The workshops are designed to teach students and faculty effective strategies and tactics of business research using the print and electronic resources provided by Florida State University. These free workshops examine research topics including company and industry research, ideation, marketing research, and job searches.
FSU Libraries are currently taking applications for new Alternative Textbook Grants to support FSU faculty in replacing commercial textbooks with open source alternatives to be made available to students at no cost.
