WATER: A Symposium

Monday, October 23, 2017

Scholars Commons will be hosting a daylong speaker event, Water: A Symposium, on Friday, October 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (light breakfast and lunch will be offered for attendees). We have seven faculty members from around campus coming to discuss a range of perspectives on the broad, interdisciplinary concept of water from the Departments of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering; Geography; Modern Languages and Linguistics; History; Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science; and Anthropology, as well as the advocacy group Apalachicola Riverkeeper. From the rivers of Amazonia and the Apalachicola to the impact of climate change and water-related policy making, our program features cutting-edge research on water and aims to create a campus-wide dialogue.

Registration is free and participants are welcome to attend the entire event or individual sessions.
