This session will feature some of the key FSU resources for major and lesser-known periodicals in the 18th-20th centuries. Included are papers newly available through ProQuest's Historical Newspapers database.

This workshop is designed for students in the Behavioral and Social Sciences to learn how to locate and search relevant information from databases, journals, and books, track citation chains, keep current, and organize the references.
Resources for Collaborative Project Management
12:20-1:40pmThis workshop will provide an overview of the various surveys conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, such as the Decennial Census, the American Community Survey, the Economic Census and others. Methods for finding, extracting, and analyzing Census data will also be explored. The tools and resources showcased include: American FactFinder, Social Explorer, ICPSR, and the Historical Census Browser from the University of Virginia.
Government Information Research
2:00-3:00 pmThis session will introduce participants to U.S. government resources from both the legislative and executive branches of government. Library resources to be covered in this session will include ProQuest Congressional and the new GovInfo.gov for bills and laws, House and Senate documents, and committee reports and hearings, on some of the major issues of U.S. politics and government.

Knowing how to conduct a literature review using effective search strategies is one of the core skills required for researchers across disciplines. This session will be divided into three sections designed for students in the Humanities, the Behavioral and Social Sciences, and the STEM disciplines to learn how to locate and search relevant information from databases and journals, track citations, and keep current with the literature.11:15-12:15am

Refworks, Zotero, and EndNote Web help save time at every stage of your research process by collecting and organizing citations and generating bibliographies. Tackle the Beast: A Task-Based Approach to Writing your Dissertation
The Graduate Writing Center will lead this session on a task-based approach to writing that looks at how we can plan and pace our writing, creating a regular schedule that articulates small accomplishments that builds up to a completed prospectus and dissertation.
