Finding Data
Our research librarians connect you with the datasets you need, from government sources to specialized repositories and discipline-specific archives. We navigate access requirements, evaluate data quality, and track hard-to-find sources that aren't discoverable through standard searches. Whether you need survey data, clinical records, or experimental results, we know where to look and how to get you access.
Research Data Management
FSU Libraries provides support for creating research data management plans that comply with federal and private funder requirements. Our Research Data Management Librarians offer consultations and instruction on developing research data management plans, best practices for managing and sharing data, and resources available to FSU scholars.

Data Visualization and Analysis
Our librarians provide consultative support for data visualization and analysis to all FSU students, faculty, researchers, and staff. We offer consultations on cleaning, wrangling, tabulating, graphing, and using statistical methods to extract useful information from your data.

GIS and Spatial Data
We provide support for using GIS tools to create maps and perform spatial data analysis. We support programs such as QGIS, GoogleEarth, and ArcGIS. We also assist with finding and evaluating spatial data for research applications.

Digital Humanities
The Libraries support Digital Humanities (DH) projects and pedagogy at FSU through training on DH tools, methods and platforms; advising on digital project development; and collaborating on research projects. We support the development of DH projects by providing specialized consultations, resource guidance, and instruction sessions as needed. We are interested in promoting data literacy for humanists at all levels of academic life by offering discussions, workshops, and other learning opportunities on humanities data.
